1978 Islander Freeport 36
Make offer, Make offer, Just learned the engine took on water and needs rebuilt. Seller says it's time to cut losses!!
The Islander Freeport 36 has long been one of my favorite of the classic 70/80s vintage raised salon cruising sailboats. These were the first of the drop (walk-thru) transom rear access cruisers.
This one has started to be brought back to life, but the project has been stalled on the 10 yard line. The exterior has been painted, SS arch added, new sails, lines and canvas covers, interior wood replaced around the windows, However, the boat is lacking electronics, and in the middle of re-wiring the 12v , and some of the 110v systems.
If you are handy and and want a very high quality cruising boat when finished at the price of a 'salvage boat come give this Islander a look.
